The Vavavi Cooking and Cultural Experience provides an unforgettable journey into the heart of Fijian culinary traditions. Guided by welcoming local family, participants not only learn the art of lovo cooking but also gain hands-on experience in preparing a variety of traditional Fijian dishes.
Beyond the cooking demonstrations, participants embark on a captivating market tour, where guests learn firsthand where the fresh, local ingredients used in Fijian cooking come from. From vibrant fruits to aromatic spices, the market tour offers a glimpse into the vibrant tapestry of Fijian flavors and ingredients.
Throughout the entire experience, the emphasis is just on learning recipes but also on understanding the cultural significance and traditions that surround Fijian cuisine. As participants engage in conversations, share stories, and forge connections with their hosts, they become part of a community united by a love for food and a deep appreciation for Fijian culture.

Transfers outside the Nadi /Denarau area will need to make their own way or can be arranged at an additional fee.
All transfers arranged by Vavavi or the customer needs to reach the venue between 9:15am – 9:30am.
Pick up times will vary depending on where the customers will be travelling from. Within the Nadi/Denarau area, pick ups would commence at 9am whereas outside of this area, time could range from 8.00am – 9.00am.
Minimum: 4 guests. Maximum: 15 guests.

Rate Inclusions
Complimentary return transfers from Nadi / Denarau area (must be advised in advance), morning tea, lunch, cool drinks on arrival, soft drinks and local beers, filter water all day, guided market tour and Kava ceremony.
Additional Information Session Details: Time: 9.00am to 3.00pm
Dietary requirement: Vavavi caters to all dietary requirements including vegetarian, gluten-free, lactose-free, halal, etc. Note: All sessions are subject to availability and advance booking is recommended to secure a spot. If no sessions are pre-booked, the team requires at least 36 hours notice in order to procure the freshest ingredients for the ingredients.
Any purchase made at the local market for personal consumption or other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages besides the beverages list would be at its own cost.
What to Bring:
Cash only, comfortable shoes, and attire as guests are encouraged to engage with all activities.
Session Modifications
If any modifications related to the booking (e.g. group, dietary, transfers) are required, please notify Vavavi as early as possible so that the request is taken into consideration subject to availability.
Child Policy
Children below the age of 5 are free of charge.
Children aged 5-12 years at child rate.
Booking Policy
Any dietary requirements needs to be noted as part of booking.
At least 4 adults are required to host a session. Bookings for 4 adults can receive instant confirmation.
If guests need to make a booking for 1-3 adults, please provide with a range of dates the guests are available. Vavavi may be able to consolidate bookings to host a combined session with other small groups.
Cancellation Policy
Bookings cancelled 24 hours prior to the scheduled session day will be fully refundable.
Bookings cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled session day will incur 50% of the total booking value.
Bookings cancelled on the day of the session (including no-shows) will incur 100% of the total booking value.
Weather and External Factors
In case of unforeseen circumstances such as unfavorable weather conditions or events beyond control, Vavavi reserves the right to cancel or reschedule bookings. In such cases, Vavavi will work with you to find a suitable solution, which may include rescheduling or a refund of the deposit.
Rescheduling
Requests to reschedule bookings are subject to availability and minimum number of pax.
Rescheduling requests made more than 72 hours before the booking will be accommodated without any additional charges.
Rescheduling requests made within 72 hours of the scheduled session day may incur a rescheduling fee.
